Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding

When I saw that an old co worker turned boss lady friend of mine had recently got engaged, I jumped at the chance to be a part of what I knew would be an epic Hummingbird Nest Ranch wedding. Linda and I had worked together in our previous lives in retail. She’s been a huge inspiration to me ever since. I distinctly remember when Linda was consulting, and I was a mere assistant, and she told me about how she was working on developing a skin care line. I remember thinking how cool it was that she was working on creating a product and a brand. Fast forward several years, and Linda is the CEO of the hugely successful Karuna skin care brand carried in major retailers like Sephora, Ulta, and Anthropologie. Her passion and success have been a huge inspiration for me as an female entrepreneur. Ever since I have known her she has been this fierce, confident, stylish woman. I was thrilled to partner with her on bringing her and her fiance Dan’s wedding day together.

Linda had a clear vision of what she and Dan wanted their wedding to look and feel like. Feminine colors and textures with a classic feel, excellent food and drinks, and laughter fill the room among close family and friends.

Set in a cobblestone courtyard with old wood doors, and exposed brick, Hummingbird Nest Ranch resembles more of an Italian Villa than a ranch set on the hillside of Santa Susana, California. It was the perfect setting for Linda and Dan’s romantic, summer wedding.

The couple was all giggles for their first look. Linda and Dan both were not hung up on many of the typical wedding traditions. They went along with it all and I secretly think they really enjoyed the first look surprise.

The team at La Piñata Party draped the ceremony with crystals beads and soft chiffon swagging in the trees. They hung market lights and chandeliers in the courtyard creating a warm glow for the dinner reception. Foxglove Los Angeles set the exposed wood tables with lush eucalyptus garlands, and pretty blush centerpieces for the white linen rounds. We kept the feminine look going with pink carousel wine glasses, ornate tumblers, and added a bit of a modern touch with gold flatware, and gold rimmed dinner and salad plates all from La Piñata.
